The developer, which is fully owned by Investment Corporation of Dubai, won Project of the Year for its transformational Deira Enrichment Project and Best Innovative Project of the Year for the landmark One Za’abeel development.
Held on 15 October 2019 at the Sofitel Dubai at the Palm, the Construction Innovation Awards comprises 33 categories recognising individual excellence, corporate strengths, and project success in the Middle East. Each nominee participated in a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a panel of industry experts that considered design, quality, innovation and commitment to sustainability amongst other project features.
Ithra Dubai’s two accolades validate its staunch commitment to excellence and innovation, as well as its dedication to Dubai and the development and execution of sustainable, inclusive, mixed-use projects in the heart of the city.
On winning Project of the Year, Mr. Issam Galadari, Chief Executive Officer and Board member of Ithra Dubai, said: “We are honoured that the Deira Enrichment Project has been named Project of the Year. The Deira Enrichment Project is an overhaul of Dubai’s oldest trading and residential community that is being built in two phases spanning more than eight years. When complete, it will include up to 20 districts with a mix of retail and office space, and a wide range of residential options that will rejuvenate the landscape in the Deira area.

One Za’abeel is Ithra Dubai’s iconic addition to Dubai’s illustrious skyline. It consists of twin skyscrapers, Tower A and Tower B, dissected by a panoramic sky concourse dubbed “The Link.”The Link will feature a record-setting 66meters long cantilever providing 360-degree views of Dubai from its viewing platform and offers incredible unique experiences in addition to the ultimate in fine dining and hospitality. Along with restaurants and bars in Tower A, One Za’abeel will also claim the first urban resort in Dubai under the One & Only Urban Resort brand, and a curated retail experience across three floors at the Gallery Mall. Tower B will primarily be dedicated to residential units.

Deira Enrichment Project
Deira is the vibrant cornerstone of Dubai’s trading legacy. With the exception of the Waterfront Market, which opened in 2017, the first phase of DEP is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2020.
